In 2016, while on tour with If/Then and feeling inspired, Janine decided to begin writing her first screenplay. Motivated by the chaos of planning her own wedding at the time and by the tight bond between her and her own sisters, she knew that many other people could relate to this universal theme of family, obligation, and loyalty. She approached her longtime friend and writer, Eric Holmes, about co-writing and thankfully, Eric loved the idea of dysfunctional and heartfelt family comedy. While the duo didn’t know where their wrting would lead, they had a ton of belly laughs while writing and knew that their collaboration was special. After a table read with friends, the script was optioned by Dolphin Entertainment and Lea Thompson came on board to helm the ship as Director. Janine is also a co-producer on the film.
